The OMG burger was good, but not the best burger and it really seems to be more about the presentation rather than the flavor. The Pork Brisket Steak & Chicken & Cheese Melt lacked flavor. The pork belly ramen was a surprisly better than the description. We all ordered something different and there wasn't one dish that seemed to amazing us. We ordered some of the signature drinks, and while they were good, the presentation was sloppy & the glasses were not full as they looked as if they got spilled a few times on the way to our table. Our server was quick to great us and get drinks to our table. We were luckly able to make a reservation, this is almost a must as the wait was over an hour Saturday evening. This has been a restaurant that was on our list for sometime. Our waitress told us they do a really cool thirsty Thursday where they have $5 premium bourbons (they select in advance what they will have, it's not open season on Pappy, but it is good names they put on the list) from 4-7, I think.We went with a party of 6 to FINALLY eat at Whiskey Cake. We went on Tuesday and it was crowded when we walked in but died down quickly. So I decided a flight would be a great way to try some new things and I got a bourbon flight which was unique and interesting. I had a glass of Basil Hayden's, which was silly since I've had it many times before, and because they have everything from Woodford double oak to Pappy 23.
They sent us home with a whiskey cake also. We had fried green tomatoes, fondue, my wife had the salmon, while I had the brisket. Then while we waited on our table, we had a bar waitress who was great with appetizer recommendations, so much so, we decided to eat our whole dinner there in the lounge to keep her as our waitress and to let our son stay asleep.
